Grand Rapids, Mich. — The No. 4-rated Aquinas College women's soccer team returned to the pitch on Wednesday (Oct. 16) with a 7:00 p.m. contest versus the Wolverines of UM-Dearborn. The Saints were quick to action as they found early success against UMD. The contest was all AQ with just a sprinkle of Dearborn as the final whistle brought the contest to a close with an 8-1 standing with the Saints on top.

The Saints returned to the shooting gallery against the Wolverines as the action started early for AQ.
Emily Gignac added the first tally of the evening with a pass from
Madison Slezinski in the seventh minute.
Maeva Lichtensteiger swiftly added a solo goal in the ninth minute. Lichtensteiger then double backed and returned to the score sheet with another goal just 17 seconds later, with an assist from Gignac.
The Saints keep their sights hot but were just off target.
The bullseye's returned as Slezinski found a goal of her own in the 26th minute.
In similar fashion, AQ returned to the goal line and found another goal at the start of the 28th minute, by way of
Lauren Niblett.
As the half came to a close,
Olivia Bowling notched the final tally with a touch from Gignac.
As the Saints exited the pitch, they held a 6-0 advantage over the Wolverines.
UM-Dearborn managed to keep Aquinas at bay for part of the second half, but the Saints returned nonetheless. Slezinksi notched another in the 61st minute by way of Niblett.
In the 80th minute, the Wolverines connected on a corner kick header combo giving them their own tally.
Late into the contest, Aquinas was awarded a penalty kick and
Ivanna Perez struck true to up the Saints to a 8-1 difference.
Soon after the final whistle came to blow, advancing the Saints to 11-0 (8-0) on the season.
