Grand Rapids, Mich. — The Aquinas College Rocket League team faced off with Rochester Christian on Wednesday (Oct. 2). The Saints were unable to take a game off of Rochester Christian, but each bout was decided by a single goal.
Rochester Christian 3, Aquinas 0
The series started off strong as both teams battled for the initial advantage. The teams balanced on a tight rope as the tension of the contest increased with the decreasing of the clock. Both defenses were in overdrive in an effort to remain even. RCU went on to find the only goal of the game. With time expiring Rochester Christian took the first game 1-0. RCU had six total shots, and AQ had three total.
The second game of the series rang with the same tone as Rochester Christian was just an arm lengths away once again. RCU took the second with a score of 2-1. This time beating Aquinas on shots, 5-3.
The third game of the contest came and went once again similar to the previous games of the night. The balancing act continued in the third as both teams looked to make the other slip. This game saw RCU take another single point victory by a score of 1-0 to complete the sweep. This leg of the contest was once again decided by a single shot difference in the advantage of the victors, 3-2.
