Sylvania, Oh. – The No. 12 Aquinas women's volleyball team continued their impressive run with tonight's (Oct. 26) sweep over Lourdes University. The Saints extended their winning streak to 24 matches, now boasting a 32-1 record. Aquinas also remains undefeated in conference play, maintaining a perfect 14-0 record.

Jenna Lee set the tone for the Saints with a service ace, followed by a swift kill from Michelle Domey, giving Aquinas an early 3-0 lead. Samee Teachworth added a powerful kill, and Bella Hommes delivered an ace to stretch the lead to 6-2. Late in the first set, Lee struck with back-to-back kills, pushing the Saints ahead 18-13. Julia Schweihofer then stepped up with an ace, extending the lead to 22-14, and Teachworth's final kill clinched the set at 25-17.
Aquinas came out firing in the second set, rallying for eight straight points with contributions from Domey, Lydia Harper, and Lauren Chioini. Cece Pelak joined the action with an ace, followed by another Lee kill, building a dominating 13-3 lead. Teachworth added two more kills, and Lee kept the momentum going to make it 19-5. A Chioini kill brought up set point, and a service error from Lourdes sealed the set 25-9 for the Saints.
AQ kept the heat on in the third set, racing to an 8-2 start, highlighted by two aces from Lee and another ace from Hommes. Lourdes fought back, trimming the deficit to 12-11, but Domey's two kills, along with one from Chioini, rebuilt the lead to 19-13. Mel Beachnau and Chioini combined for a crucial block, stretching the score to 22-14. The set, and the match, was sealed with a block by Teachworth and Harper, giving Aquinas the sweep 25-16.
