Grand Rapids, Mich. — The No. 11 Aquinas Saints are surging through the postseason, securing their place in the WHAC Championship with a commanding sweep over Lawrence Tech on Thursday night (Nov. 16). The semifinal victory improves AQ's impressive record to 38-1.

The Blue Devils opened the first set with a brief 2-0 lead, but the Saints responded swiftly with five unanswered points, including two kills by Mallory Keller and one by Lauren Chioini, making it 5-2. AQ maintained their momentum with two additional kills and an ace from Lydia Harper, extending the lead to 9-3. The Saints kept the pressure on, racking up four more kills highlighted by a strike from Samee Teachworth and back-to-back aces from Madison Lawson to push ahead 17-7. Contributions from Teachworth, Chioini, and an ace by Bella Hommes pushed the score to 22-10. A Lawson-Chioini block set up set point, and Chioini sealed the 25-13 win with a kill.
In the second set, Aquinas jumped out to a 6-3 lead with three kills from the Saints and an ace from Keller. The Saints extended their lead to 13-7, thanks to consecutive blocks by Teachworth and Harper, complemented by another Keller kill. A five-point burst, fueled by three Keller kills, doubled the score to 18-9. Lawrence Tech battled back with a late rally, narrowing the gap to 20-18 after a four-point surge. However, timely kills from Jenna Lee and Teachworth halted the comeback, and a service error by LTU handed AQ the 25-22 victory.
The Saints wasted no time asserting control in the third set. Early kills from Teachworth and Keller set the tone with a 2-0 lead. Back-to-back kills from Keller, a Chioini strike, and an ace from Harper extended the lead to 8-4. AQ then unleashed a staggering 12-point run, putting the set and match out of reach at 21-7. Keller and Chioini each tallied a kill to bring up set point, and Harper delivered the final blow to secure the 25-12 win.
