Grand Rapids, Mich. – The No. 11 Aquinas College women's volleyball team achieved another significant milestone in their extraordinary season, with three players earning First Team All-Region honors and one receiving Honorable Mention All-Region recognition. The Saints boast a stellar 40-2 overall record, including an undefeated 18-0 mark in conference play and a 39-1 record through the WHAC Tournament.
Mallory Keller added yet another accolade to her standout season, earning First Team All-Region honors. Keller was named WHAC Attacker of the Year and Newcomer of the Year while securing a spot on the First Team All-Conference list. Keller also claimed the WHAC Attacker of the Week seven times throughout the season. She led the WHAC with 488 kills during the regular season, averaging an impressive 4.93 kills per set over 99 sets played. Through the WHAC Tournament, she added 27 more kills, bringing her season total to 515 (4.90 kills per set). Keller's all-around contributions included 44 service aces, 20 assists, and 228 digs, solidifying her position as one of the NAIA's top attackers.
Lydia Harper earned a spot on the First Team All-Region list after a remarkable season in which she was named WHAC Setter of the Year and earned WHAC Setter of the Week honors four times. She also secured a First Team All-Conference selection. Harper tallied an impressive 1,257 assists, averaging 10.56 assists per set. She also recorded 61 service aces, averaging .51 per set, along with 167 kills, 254 digs, and 98 total blocks, showcasing her well-rounded performance.
Lauren Chioini earned a spot on the First Team All-Region list after a standout season. Her exceptional performance earlier in the season earned her a place on the First Team All-Conference list. A consistent force for the Saints, Chioini recorded 307 kills while maintaining an impressive .427 hitting percentage. Her season-high hitting percentage came in a match against Olivet Nazarene, where she tallied eight kills on 12 attacks for a .667 hitting percentage. Chioini also contributed 120 total blocks and accumulated 372.5 points.
Bella Hommes earned Honorable Mention All-Region honors for her crucial defensive efforts. Named WHAC Libero of the Year and a two-time WHAC Libero of the Week, Hommes showcased her consistency with 533 digs over 119 sets, averaging 4.56 digs per set. She also delivered offensively from the service line with 66 aces, finishing third in the WHAC in this category. Her stellar play also earned her a spot on the First Team All-Conference list.
The Saints' incredible season continues to garner well-deserved recognition, with these players exemplifying the excellence and teamwork that has defined Aquinas volleyball in 2024.
