Grand Rapids, Mich. – Another dominant display in net from Aquinas' junior goaltender resulted in another WHAC Defensive Player of the Week award for
Austin Hynote, as announced by the conference this afternoon (Mar. 11).
The netminder from Chesterton, Indiana had another great game in net for the Saints as AQ rolled past (RV) Benedictine 12-5 this past Saturday (Mar. 9). Hynote made 11 saves and allowed just five goals for an incredible 68.8 save percentage.
This is the second consecutive week that Hynote has claimed the WHAC Defender of the Week accolade. Last week, Hynote played a pivotal role in taking down Saint Ambrose. He had 15 saves in that contest with a .556 save percentage.
Through two games, Hynote has 26 saves and a .605 save percentage. His save percentage ranks as the sixth-best percentage in the NAIA.
The Saints are back in action tonight (Mar. 11) against another receiving-votes team. AQ takes on Ottawa University at 7:00 p.m.
