Grand Rapids, Mich. — The NAIA office has released their latest men's lacrosse national top 10 ranking. In this edition the Aquinas men's team has jumped up four spots to now claim the #6 ranking.
The Aquinas men's lacrosse team has been on the pursuit of greatness as they continue their streak and remain undefeated. Before the season's start, the boys in maroon took down Central Michigan in a dominant showing of 18-4.
With official matches underway, the Saints have taken down #9 Saint Ambrose (13-12), (RV) Benedictine (12-5), (RV) Ottawa (15-13), and most recently Saint Mary (17-4).
So far this season the Saints have out scored their opponents 57-34, averaging 44 shots a game and allowing 32.
Cooper Nienhuis leads the team with 20 total points, 19 goals and one assist.
Cade Linnemeyer follows with eight goals and five assists for 13 points.
As
Brady Waling rounds out third most points with 11, notching six goals and five assists.
And
Austin Hynote continues to hold it down in net. Hynote has been dubbed the WHAC Defensive Player of the Week twice this season already.
Other shakeups in the national ranking saw Reinhardt jump to No. 1 position after receiving all eight first place votes as they remain undefeated with a perfect 7-0 season. Keiser falls to second, while Webber international sits in third. And SCAD Savannah joins the top 10 by notching themselves in at 10th place after not receiving votes.
