Grand Rapids, Mich. — The WHAC offices released their most recent players of the week on Monday (Mar. 18). Aquinas' men's lacrosse squad has been dominant enough to have stake in these releases previously, but this marks the first week where AQ has earned offensive marks. Freshman midfielder,
Cooper Nienhuis, earned Aquinas' first offensive WHAC award.
Nienhuis has been a force to be reckoned with for the Saints, as AQ stills sits on a perfect season (4-0).
Nienhuis is the leading scorer for AQ with a staggering 19 goals and one assist for 20 total points, within four games. His 19 goals over four games is good for 4.75 goals per game, a mark that ranks second-highest in the NAIA.
So far, Nienhuis has scored a minimum of a hat trick in each contest he has taken part in.
Here is how Nienhuis performed at the games this far:
#9 St. Ambrose: Six goals
(RV) Benedictine: Five goals
(RV) Ottawa: Five goals
Saint Mary: Three goals, one assist
The freshman midfielder from Holland, Michigan, has had a great start to the season and will be one to keep an eye on as the #6 Saints continue to march for greatness.
