Lewis Takes Flight Over AQ

Flyers score 23 to the Saints 3

Box Score Grand Rapids, Mich. — The (RV) Aquinas College women's lacrosse team took to the AQ Athletic Field today (Mar. 23) for their first home game of the season. The contest saw the Saints continue their difficult schedule with a contest against the DII Flyers of Lewis. At the final horn, Lewis had punctuated its dominant showing with a tally of 23-3.

The Flyers took off at the start of the match, scoring just 32 seconds in on the opening march. Lewis continued to pelt the Aquinas net until Katelyn Hall broke the drought for the Saints, pushing the difference to 5-1.

From here the Flyers kept their offensive hold on the Saints as they ran the score to 15-1. But Kennedie Minerich found some motion and managed one before the end of the second, making it 15-2 as the half came to a close. 

AQ only found one more goal for the remainder of the contest as Lewis continued their dominant holding. Shaylin Rings tallied the final goal for the Saints. 

At the final horn, Lewis had finished their showing with a 23-3 win over Aquinas.

By the Numbers

Hall, Minerich, and Rings all tallied an unassisted goal for the Saints.

Lewis had 38 shots to AQ's 38.

Aquinas notched six saves, while Lewis only had three.

Lewis had 11 ground balls to AQ's four.
