Kansas City, Mo. – After garnering the WHAC Offensive Player of the Week award for the second consecutive week yesterday (Mar. 25),
Cooper Nienhuis has been recognized at the national level for his performance against Lourdes. The freshman from Holland was named the NAIA Men's Lacrosse National Offensive Player of the Week today (Mar. 26) for his incredible performance against the Gray Wolves.
This is the first time that a Saint has been named national player of the week since
Clayton Boerigter earned the award back in 2022.
Nienhuis has been on an absolute tear to begin his collegiate lacrosse career. He has scored 27 goals in five games, averaging an NAIA-best 5.4 goals per game. He had his best performance of the season this past Saturday (Mar. 23) when he scored an incredible eight goals and assisted three more in a 20-11 win over Lourdes.
The West Ottawa graduate put all 11 of his shots on target while grabbing four ground balls and causing two turnovers.
