Grand Rapids, Mich. — The (RV) Aquinas College women's lacrosse team continued their away game spree with a 5 p.m. contest with the Hornets of Kalamazoo. The competition was all Kalamazoo as they buzzed about the pitch. The Saints showed some life but not enough to float with the Hornets. Kalamazoo takes the contest 22-5.
Kalamazoo 22, Aquinas 5
After a few minutes of back and forth of which team would find their footing first, the Hornets came to break the scoreboard silence first. Kalamazoo found their footing and kept it that way for much of the first half. KC put up 13 straight scores.
Aquinas finally broke their silence in the second period with two goals, the first being an unassisted score by
Shaylin Rings, and the second was
Trinity Reynoso assisted by
Kennadie Minerich.
The goals then came in pairs, Aquinas' two followed by two from KC, then another two for the Saints. This time,
Katelyn Hall and Minerich both found the net unassisted. These scoring drives brought the difference to 15-4.
Seven more goals would be scored in the contest. Only one of them belonged to AQ.
At the final horn, Kalamazoo had claimed a 22-5 victory.
