AQ Cheer Takes 11th at NCA Nationals

Aquinas earns an overall score of 71.7292

Daytona Beach, Fla. — The Aquinas College Cheer team traveled to Daytona Beach, Florida for the second year in a row to compete at the NCA National Championships. The first day of competition was set for Thursday (Apr. 11) but due to inclement weather, prelims were postponed to the following day. After the storm had elapsed, the Saints took to the band shell and notched an 11th-place start to the competition. AQ managed to up their score on day two but still remained in the 11th position.

The first day of true competition saw the Saints earn a 70.12. Day two saw an increase in score to 72.27.

After the tabulation of scores, Aquinas had solidified their time in Daytona Beach with an overall of 71.7292, cementing the teams seventh place position at the 2024 NCA National Championships.

Here is what Interim Head Coach Harley Sholl had to say about the teams national showing, "I am so incredibly proud of their performances on Friday and Saturday and how far they have come this season. It was so rewarding as a coach to watch this team finish their season on the largest stage for collegiate cheerleading".

This competition brings a close to AQ Cheer's 2024 season, the team will now look towards preseason for 2025.
