Grand Rapids, Mich. — The Aquinas College Cheer Team took the mat at the Sturrus Sports and Fitness Center on Saturday (Mar. 1) for the annual Saints Showdown.

This year's Saints Showdown was a small competition as it featured Aquinas and the two-time national defending champions Saint Ambrose.

Aquinas bounced back from their previous competition with a 65.52.

This is what Head Coach Sue Smith had to share about the teams performance "I am so proud of our performance today. We increased our score by over 20 points from the previous week and we put a clean routine on the mat."

Aquinas will hit the mat again next week at the Sturrus Sports and Fitness Center Saturday (Mar. 8th) for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championships.
