#7 Indiana Tech Finds Success Against Aquinas

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Aquinas battled No. 7-ranked Indiana Tech this afternoon to cap off a busy two-day weekend. The Warriors took control of the game early and never looked back, picking up a 21-6 victory. Indiana Tech improved its win streak to five games while the Saints continued to search for their offensive identity.

The Warriors quickly found the back of the net twice before Shaylin Rings responded with her first goal of the game to put AQ on the scoreboard. IT countered with three more goals before Rings scored for a second time following a Warrior penalty.

From that point, the nationally-ranked team scored six unanswered goals for a commanding 11-2 lead. Reynoso found paydirt before the conclusion of the half, but AQ was trailing by eight heading into halftime.

The second half experienced a similar game flow as the Warriors outscored Aquinas 10-3 in the second half. Rings found her hat trick while Reynoso and Minerich both put the ball in the back of the net, but IT ultimately claimed a 21-6 victory.

By the Numbers

Rings scored her seventh hat trick of the season and led the team with four total points. Reynoso scored twice and Minerich added a point for her team-leading 53rd point of the season.

Kennedy Stilson saw 40 total shots with 35 shots on net. She saved 14 of the 35 shots on net for a 40% save percentage.

Aquinas' tough road stretch has one more game in store on Wednesday (Mar. 10). The Saints will take on nationally-ranked and the defending national champions in No. 3 Lawrence Tech.  The game will start at 3:00 p.m.
