Grand Rapids, Mich. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC), formally known as CoSIDA, released their 2024 Baseball Academic All-District teams yesterday afternoon (June 4). Aquinas had five players from the baseball team announced as recipients of the award for their success both on the field and in the classroom.
Mark Binkowski,
Conor Gausselin,
Ryan Gillings,
Chase Ingersoll, and
Grant Martin were the five athletes announced for their strong seasons.
Athletes are nominated for this award by current CSC members based on select academic and athletic criteria. This criteria includes starting in at least 66% of games or playing in 90% of the total team's games, holding at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA, and being at least a sophomore both athletically and academically.

Mark Binkowski (SS) | Senior, Business Administration
- .278 batting average, .856 OPS, 42 hits, 8 doubles, 4 triples, 3 home runs, 22 RBIs, 30 walks.
- Led the team with 30 walks and 111 assists.
- Top 10 in the WHAC in walks.
- Ended career tied for the most triples in AQ history (11).
Conor Gausselin (RHP) | Senior, Business & Sports Management
- All-WHAC Second Team.
- 6-4 record, 2.41 ERA, 59.2 innings pitched, 65 strikeouts.
- Best ERA, batting average against (.250), strikeouts, wins, complete games, and shutouts on the team.
- Second in the WHAC in ERA and fifth in wins. Top 10 in strikeouts, K/9, and innings pitched.
Ryan Gillings (C) | Senior, Business & Sports Management
- .331 batting average, .884 OPS, 39 hits, 7 doubles, 2 triples, 1 home run, 25 RBIs, 17 walks.
- Led the team in sacrifice flies (4) and putouts (268). Gillings also caught 14 runners stealing this season, which was tied for the fifth most in Aquinas single-season history.
- Ranked 28th in the WHAC in batting average, 4th on the team in batting average (minimum 30 attempts).
Chase Ingersoll (LF) | Senior, Business Administration
- .313 batting average, .902 OPS, 47 hits, 15 doubles, 2 triples, 4 home runs, 39 RBIs, 17 walks, .980 fielding percentage.
- Co-led the team in sacrifice flies (4) and doubles (15).
- Tied for 10th in doubles in the WHAC, 43rd in batting average.
Grant Martin (1B/RHP) | Business & Sports Management
- .324 batting average, 1.002 OPS, 58 hits, 15 doubles, 1 triple, 13 home runs, 49 RBIs, 11 walks.
- Led AQ in slugging percentage, RBIs, doubles, home runs, total bases, and sacrifice flies.
- Most home runs in a single season since 1999.
- Top 10 in the conference in slugging percentage, doubles, home runs, extra-base hits, total bases, and RBIs. Second in the WHAC in home runs.
All nominated student-athletes by their institution are named to the All-District Team and advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be voted on and announced July 2nd.
