Shema Reponse Joins AQ Cross Country and Track & Field Programs

Grand Rapids, Michigan - Shema Reponse, the son of  Rose Reponse, has signed his national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Aquinas College. Reponse, who recently graduated from East Kentwood High School, became the ninth signee of the 2023-24 recruiting class for the Aquinas College men's cross country and track & field programs.

Reponse stated, "I just wanted to continue running and I'm happy that I found a good place to continue my journey."

Shema, who also shares a passion for soccer, has posted a personal best of 16:25 on the cross course.  He also has PR's of 4:32 (1600 meters) and 10:10 (3200 meters) on the track.  A tri-sport athlete for East Kentwood, Shema also was also an All-Conference performer for the Falcons.

Tim Gumz, head boys cross country coach at East Kentwood commented, "Shema is a talented athlete and an outstanding teammate. He possesses a tremendous desire to grow as a distance runner, and I look forward to watching him fulfill his potential as a collegiate athlete. I have no doubt that he will be a great addition to the Aquinas College program."

Shema has two siblings named Lilian and Louange and he is undecided about a major at Aquinas College.

Aquinas head coach Mike Wojciakowski commented, "Shema is a welcomed addition to our cross country and track & field community here at Aquinas College.  Shema is quite raw when it comes to competitive running, but his natural ability coupled with his enthusiasm gets me very excited about his future. I am looking forward to begin working with Shema very soon."
