Tallahassee, Florida - After placing third at the WHAC Championships two weeks ago, the Saints traveled to compete at the NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships in Tallahassee, Florida this morning. The Saints entered the meet ranked 26th in the country and held serve and placed 26th in the meet. The men's program has now competed at 27 out of the last 29 national championships.
The Saints were paced by
Brian Langlois, who covered the 8000 meters in 25:45. Langlois' effort led to a 82nd place finish overall.
Shema Reponse crossed the line next for Aquinas as he placed 126th in a time of 26:07, while
Austin Williford finished in 149th place with a time of 26:16.
Andrew Stern (26:23) and
Juan David Hernandez Avila (26:27) crossed the line next for the Saints as they finished in a 161st and 168th respectively.
Carson Lafferty (227th - 26:56) and
Jaben Bakker (255th - 27:19) also competed for the Saints.
Indiana Wesleyan won the team competition with a total score of 117 points, while The Masters, Cumberlands, and Rocky Mountain rounded out the podium team finishes. Aquinas tallied 550 points en route to their 26th place finish.
The Saints will now switch their attention to the upcoming indoor track and field season.
