WHAC RELEASE

Grand Rapids, Mich. – The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its men's golf Preseason Coaches' Poll rankings for the 2024-25 season. After finishing ninth at the WHAC Championship last season, AQ has been selected by the conference's coaches to finish eighth in 2024-25.

AQ gathered 80 total points in the poll of 13 teams. Lawrence Tech topped the poll with 11 first-place votes and 166 total points. UNOH was the only other team to take stock with first-place votes, claiming one with 154 total points. Cornerstone (123 points), Siena Heights (114 points), and Indiana Tech (105 points).

Most of last year's team will be returning this season with another year of experience under their belt. The group will be led by graduate student Matt Denhartigh and junior Anthony Lalomia, who were the best two golfers for AQ at the 2024 WHAC Championships.

The Saints started the season this past Monday and Tuesday (Sept. 9-10) and had a solid fifth-place result at the Battle at Blackthorn. Denhartigh finished 10th after shooting a 78 and 77 while Lalomia shot a 79 and 80 to finish in 21st.

Aquinas will have the Lourdes Fall Invitational next week on Tuesday (Sept. 17) before competing in the WHAC Fall Preview on September 30 and October 1.
