Grand Rapids, Mich. — The Aquinas College Rocket League team faced off with the Saints of Siena Heights on Monday (Sep. 23). SHU showed their prowess in each contest as they held AQ scoreless in two games. Aquinas managed to break their silence in the third but it wasn't enough to take the win to force an additional game.
Siena Heights 3, Aquinas 0
The first game was all Siena as they bolstered eight shots to AQ's two. As the clock wound down, SHU took the first leg 3-0.
The second game saw a both teams ramp up their play. SHU this time finding 16 shots, but AQ stepped up on defense and had 12 saves. However, Siena Heights held their defensive edge and did not allow an offensive front from AQ.
The third game is where Aquinas finally managed to break through the deadlock and secure three goals, one for each AQ competitor. Even with the deadlock broken, SHU still managed to hold high with five goals.
With the conclusion of the third game, Siena Heights have secured the match win.
