Grand Rapids, Mich. — The Aquinas men's soccer team took the pitch on Wednesday (Sep. 25) against their rival Saints from Siena Heights. The contest was a dominant showing by AQ that finished in a shutout victory for the home field Saints, 6-0.

AQ started off the game quick with an opening goal from the combination of
Tevan Jones to
Yussef Hakmaoui in the ninth minute.
In the 16th minute
Mason Sills struck true with a pass from
Ricardo Rittersberger.
The third goal came from Rittersberger resorting from a penalty kick in the 26th minute.
The final goal of the half came from a
Joe Lockey with a header on a ball from Hakmaoui.
AQ walked off the pitch with a go-ahead lead of 4-0.
Returning to the pitch, Lockey felt the buzz again as he tallied another header this time by
Jasper Schinkel in the 51st minute.
The goal driven atmosphere came to a simmer as AQ continued to push into SHU territory, but weren't finding their proper connections.
Fikret Hasovic returned it to life as he laid down a strike to add another goal in the 87th minute. Aquinas now stood tall with a 6-0 advantage as time wound down.
No further goal was scored on either side, bringing the game to a close and returning AQ into the winning column.
