Hudsonville, Mich. — The Aquinas College women's hockey team competed with Grand Valley State on Sunday (Jan. 12) on the Lakers' ice. GVSU took the ice and contest by storm as they moved smoothly on their home territory. With the final horn, GVSU had taken the win 10-0.
Grand Valley State 10, Aquinas 0
The Lakers jumped to action in the first as they scored just under three minutes into the contest. But the Saints re-upped their defense and managed to keep GVSU out of the net for the remainder of the first. The teams exited the ice with a single goal on the board (1-0).
The second period of play saw Grand Valley State key in on the Saints' movements and the Lakers dialed in three more goals. AQ had their rallies and attempts on net, but were just off the mark of securing their first goal.
The third and final period of regulation saw the Lakers dial their movements even more as this time they managed to get by the Saints' defense for six additional goals. Aquinas continued their efforts but still lacked their final offensive puzzle piece to crack into the back of the net. With the final horn, GVSU took the win 10-0.
