AQ showed improvement in the second leg but were unable to hold off the Pilots

Grand Rapids, Mich. — The Aquinas College Esports program opened up its inaugural Valorant season with play against Bethel on Wednesday (Jan. 29).

Bethel 2, Aquinas 0

The Pilots took the first leg of the contest in a strong showing with a scoreline of 13-4. Game two saw the Saints stay even with BU with a 3-3 opening. But in time the Pilots once again found their streams and took the leg 13-5, taking the game 2-0.

By the Numbers This is what Interim Director Tommy Gehl had to share about the contest, "We knew going into having a Valorant team that this was going to be an uphill battle. Bethel is a proper squad with great players. I'm very happy with the team as they have already shown improvement moving from game one to game two. The team understands that this season will be a challenge and I think tonight was a great showing for them to understand the road ahead."
