Box Score Grand Rapids, MI – The Aquinas College women's soccer team made it a successful Senior Day as a pair of seniors combined for all the goals in a convincing 4-0 home win over Indiana Tech. Kiersen Korienek and Olivia Bowling each scored twice to help propel the Saints in Saturday's victory.
Excluding last Saturday's win over Defiance, it had been a while since Aquinas had taken an early lead, but Korienek did just that in the 5th minute of the game.
A corner kick from Emily Gignac sailed in front of the net and Korienek put the shot away with a header to put the Saints ahead 1-0.
In the 37th minute, junior Ella Holzwarth was fouled in the box and it resulted in a penalty kick for Bowling and a 2-0 advantage.
Bowling scored again in the 43rd minute off an assist from Madison Slezinski and it was 3-0 at the half.
Aquinas added one more in the second half in the 66th minute as Korienek dribbled several yards down the field with a defender hanging on her and ripped a beautiful goal past a diving keeper.
The Saints are currently in third place in the WHAC behind UNOH and Lourdes.

Coach's Comments
Head coach Jenna Smith "Senior Day is always about more than the game. You want to put in a good performance for the seniors who are graduating, and I think we've kind of turned the page this week and refocused. It was a really good way to start the game, and it helped build momentum, so we were happy about that. We're not looking past these last two game, but the focus is the tournament, and we want to win the last two games."
