Grand Rapids, Mich. — On Monday mornings, when the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Player of the Week awards are announced, it's becoming almost routine to see an Aquinas College Women's Volleyball player among the honorees. The week of October 13–19, 2025, was no different, as freshman setter Natalie West from Livonia, Michigan, was once again named WHAC Setter of the Week after another standout performance orchestrating the Saints' offense.

Standing 5-foot-11, West has quickly established herself as one of the top young talents in the WHAC, running an efficient and balanced Aquinas attack while showing the poise of a veteran. During the week, West tallied 142 assists, averaging just under 11 assists per set, while also adding 19 digs, 11 kills, and 5 service aces in a 3-0 stretch for the Saints. Her court vision, precision setting, and consistency have been key in helping Aquinas continue its strong push through the conference schedule.

In matches against Cornerstone, Indiana Tech, and Cumberlands (Ky.), West guided an offense that hit efficiently across multiple rotations. She posted 36 assists against Cornerstone, 30 versus Indiana Tech, and an impressive 46 assists in the four-set loss to Cumberlands — a match that saw the Saints hand the Patriots their first set loss after 53 straight wins. Beyond the numbers, West's leadership and calm presence have made her a reliable force at the heart of the AQ line-up.

Head Coach Ryan Campbell praised his freshman setter for her maturity and competitive spirit, saying:
"Natalie continues to impress us week after week. What stands out most isn't just her talent, but her composure and ability to make everyone around her better. For a freshman to step into a leadership role like this, set-up the offense, and perform at such a high level — it speaks volumes about her work ethic and love for the game."

With another WHAC honor added to her growing résumé, West has firmly cemented herself as one of the conference's premier setters — and an exciting piece of Aquinas Volleyball's present and future.
