Grand Rapids, Mich. — The sun set on a historic chapter for Aquinas Women's Rugby this past Saturday, as the Saints capped off their inaugural 15's season with a spirited doubleheader against Walsh on home turf. It was more than just a pair of matches — it was a celebration of progress, perseverance, and pride for a program that continues to find its footing and identity on the national stage. Head Coach Dani Harris and her young squad have faced their share of growing pains this fall, but each match has served as a stepping stone toward something greater, and Saturday was the perfect reflection of that journey.
Aquinas 38, Walsh 0 (10's Game)
Walsh 28, Aquinas 24 (Motley 15's Game)
In the opening 10's match, Aquinas showed its growth and determination from start to finish, rolling to a commanding shutout victory. Abby Wegener and Lillian Stough each scored two tries, while Jayana Williams added another and freshman Lucy Hanley celebrated her first career try in a Saints uniform. Stough also connected on three conversion kicks to cap off a complete team performance. The match showcased Aquinas' speed, structure, and teamwork, all of which have steadily developed over the course of the season under Head Coach Dani Harris.
The teams then squared off in a motley-style 15's match-up to ensure both sides gained valuable game reps. Despite playing shorthanded with just 11 AQ players joined by three from Walsh to even out the numbers, the Saints battled hard before narrowly falling 28–24. Veronica Sidor scored her first career try for Aquinas, while Williams, Riley Vertz, and Stough each added one of their own, with Stough also converting twice. The gritty effort reflected the Saints' competitive spirit and steady improvement, leaving the coaching staff excited about the program's foundation and its bright future.

• 4 – Different Saints scored in each game.
• 3 – Conversion kicks by Lillian Stough in the 10's win.
