Box Score Fort Wayne, IN – Early-season WHAC games often set the tone for what lies ahead, and Saturday's road trip to Fort Wayne provided the Aquinas women's basketball team with a true measuring-stick opportunity. Facing perennial conference contender Indiana Tech on their home floor, the Saints entered the Schaefer Center eager to showcase their growth, poise, and resilience. With a challenging November stretch underway, this match-up offered AQ a chance to test its developing chemistry against one of the league's most disciplined and athletic squads.
Indiana Tech 71, Aquinas 49
Indiana Tech jumped out to an early lead with hot shooting in the opening quarter, while the Saints fought to find their rhythm on both ends. Isabel Reemsnyder provided an early spark, scoring AQ's first basket inside while battling on the glass throughout the afternoon. Paige Guernsey delivered a steady offensive presence, knocking down a three and adding a pair of strong drives to keep Aquinas within striking distance. Hope Kanouse had one of her most efficient games of the season, going 4-for-5 from the field while connecting on three triples to help stabilize AQ's offense.
In the second quarter, Kanouse continued her sharp shooting, joined by strong defensive stretches from Rhema Dozier and Hannah Gillette as the Saints worked to contain the Warriors' perimeter attack. Leah French and MJ Mikus brought needed energy off the bench, particularly on the defensive side of the ball where AQ forced multiple turnovers to disrupt Tech's pace. Despite their efforts, Indiana Tech used timely three-point shooting to push their lead to double digits heading into halftime.
The Saints' best offensive period came in the third quarter, where they shot over 58 percent from the field. Reemsnyder scored six in the frame, and Guernsey added a pair of tough finishes to keep AQ within range. Brynn Reams also chipped in offensively, while Kramer and the backcourt continued battling through Tech's pressure. However, the Warriors countered with a surge of their own, pouring in five threes in the quarter to extend their advantage.
In the fourth, Reemsnyder knocked down back-to-back threes to try and spark a rally, but Indiana Tech's depth and rebounding edge proved too much to overcome. Gillette, Braue, and Smith closed out the contest for AQ, continuing to compete defensively until the final whistle. Though the Saints were unable to close the gap, the performance highlighted several promising individual efforts and valuable early-season lessons as conference play begins to take shape.

Coach's Comments
After the game, Head Coach Brian Morris talked about the work ahead for his squad if they want to remain in the WHAC top tier:
"We saw stretches today where we played the style of basketball we're capable of, but consistency is the difference at this level. Indiana Tech punished every mistake, and that's what top teams do. Our job now is to learn from this, compete harder in the details, and keep growing as a group. I believe in this team, and I know we'll respond the right way."
