The Saints showed perseverance and resolve in a second-half rally that helped produce a critical road victory.

After a scoreless first half, the Racers notched the first goal of the game in the 56th minute to put Aquinas in a 1-0 hole.

The deficit didn't last long though, as the Saints knotted the score in the 71st minute.

Emily Gignac played a ball down the line and it popped out to Kiersen Korienek at the top of the box.

Korienek blasted it over the keeper's head for her team-leading third goal of the season.

Less than 12 minutes later, sophomore Reegyn Cady supplied the eventual game-winner when she stole the ball from the center-back for a breakaway and slid the ball in.

Senior goalkeeper Kayla Shuk was stellar in goal, stopping seven of eight shots on goal.

Coach's Comments

Head Coach Jenna Smith was thrilled with her team's second-half comeback: "We were battling as hard as we could, and it was tough, but they just stuck right with it and we came out with the win. That's the identity they've taken on. They have it in them and they just have to believe it. They keep doing it and I'm amazed by them."
