The women's bowling team made a trip to Addison, Illinois this weekend (Jan. 15-16) to compete in the Kegel-ISBPA Midwest Classic at Stardust Bowl. Of the 57 women's teams that competed this weekend, AQ placed 48th. The Saints scored 4,304 on Saturday and 3,075 on Sunday's baker games for a total score of 7,379. Mount Mercy came in first place with a total pin count of 9,461. Witchita State came in second with a total of 9,399 pins and Tennessee Southern came in third with 8,968 pins.
Carley Blanchard had her best performance of the year this weekend, placing 44th out of the 342 competitors with a five-game score of 974. That 194.8 pin average was helped by her 225 game to start the day.
Michelle Thompson was just a little bit further back, placing 81st win a five-game total of 940 pins. That 188-pin average was helped by an impressive 246 pin total in game two.
Morgan Jones came in 163rd with a five-game total of 838, good for an average of 167.6 pins per game. Her best game was also her second, with a score of 206.
Audrey Meader came in 216th with a four-game total of 683. Her 170.75 average was helped by her 205-pin showing in her first game.
Narelle Hickmon bowled three games for a total of 473 pins, good for an average of 157.67 pins per game. Her best game was her first, with a score of 166 pins.
Nicole Pawloski bowled two games for the Saints and scored a total of 276 pins, averaging 138 pins per game. Her best game was in the fourth with a score of 141 pins.
Aquinas will be back in action on February 5th for the fourth WHAC Jamboree of the season. The event is hosted by Siena Heights and will be held at Lenawee Recreation.
