Results
The Aquinas women's indoor track & field team competed at the Bill Clinger Classic on Friday (January 28) at Grand Valley State in Allendale, Michigan. Going up against a number of NCAA Division II programs, among others, the AQ women saw two qualifiers in the mile and 3K.
In the 800 M run
Maggie Whitney placed sixth with a time of 2:16.8. This time was good for a provisional qualifier and fifth all time in Saints history.
Grace Sweet was also in the race and finished with a 2:21.
Then in the 3k
Hannah Adler continued her dominant season. Adler finished sixth in the race with a time 10:03 which was good for an A Standard Qualifier. This time landed her on third on the Aquinas all time list.
Casey Lenon started the day off for the Saints off when she qualified for finals with a 8.08. In the finals she took sixth with a 8.13.
Then in the 400 M Dash
Tarshana Kimbrough took second with a 1:00.32 and Lenon was close behind with a time of 1:00.87 Kimbrough also finished fourth in finals with a time of 9.16.
In the 5k
Megan Gough finished fourth in the 5K with an 18:45.
Other highlights included
Shanna Han finishing second in the triple jump with a 10.62,
Rebecca Beltran taking fourth in the shotput with a throw of 11.10 m and
Shekira Edgar finishing second in the weight throw with a new personal best of 13.35 meters.
The Saints are back in action next Friday when they compete at home in the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame Meet. The meet begins at 5:00 PM.
