Allendale, Michigan - The women's track & field team returned to action this weekend with a two-day meet at Grand Valley State University. Under near ideal conditions, the Saints were able to compete at a high level and hit a provisional qualifying mark and added three marks to the Saints All-Time List at the annual Al & Sue Owens Classic.
The Saints secured their fourth national qualifying performance of the outdoor season in the high jump.
Alexis Furgason would clear 5-6 to place second in the event and the effort moved her to #5 on the Saints All-Time List. She is currently ranked tenth in the NAIA.
Maelie Hope would also secure a #5 spot on the Saints All-Time List with a toss of 167-0 in the Hammer.
On the track,
Madison Rempalski would win the 1500 meters in a time of 4:35.94 and move her name into the #5 spot on the Saints All-Time List. Her time currently has her ranked tenth in the NAIA. She would later team up with
Lexi Hurst,
Amber Koole, and
Lauren Wooer to run 4:01.70 in the 4x400 meter relay. Wooer would lead the Saints in the 800 with a time of 2:13.05.
Theresa Judd also had a big day leading the sprints and hurdles group as she ran a 14.84 in the 100 hurdles and a lifetime best of 26.83 in the 200 meters.
Kariesue Taghon also competed very well with a personal best of 26.54 in the 200 meters and a 12.82 in the 100 meters.
Aquinas will return to action next weekend at the Calvin Knight Invitational.
