The men's track and field program continued their season by competing at the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge and the GVSU Big Meet. While some men competed at the Grand Valley Big Meet, many athletes competed at home this weekend at Alksnis Athletic & Recreation Center.
At the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge,Â
Adam Bailey lead the way for the Saints in the 400, with a first place finish thanks to a 50.94. Â
Cyrus Prudhomme made it to finals and won the event with a time of 7.04 and edging out an Indiana Tech runner by .01. Prudhomme also won the 200 meter with a 22.40.
Isaiah Jackson represented the Saints in the 60 Hurdles with a first place finish and a time of 8.51.
On the throws side,
Collin Pollatz was the highest finisher for the Saints when he finished seventh with a throw of 14.08 meters.
John Van Til and and
Brendan Madej also competed in the event with throws of 11.64 and 10.58 meters respectfully. In the weight throw Pollatz finished second with a throw of 16.81m.
At Big Meet, the squad of
Ben Hylen,
Clayton Jones,
Caleb Hodgkinson, and
Adam Bailey earned an A Standard Qualifier in the DMR. They finished the race with a time of 10:07.95 to send them to South DakotaÂ
The men will be back in action next weekend for the WHAC Conference Championships. The two day meet begins on Friday at 4:00 PM as the Saints look for a conference championship.Â
