Grand Rapids, Michigan - The men's track & field team returned to action this weekend with a meet at Grand Valley State University. The Saints continue to impress as they head into the championship portion of their schedule. The Saints were able to score an All-Time performance and many personal bests.
Marcus Mitchell improved his personal best in the 400 meters to place sixth overall. His time of 48.72 keeps him at #4 on the Saints All-Time List. Mitchell would later team up with
Juan Garcia Valdes,
Keiton Fase, and
Jaben Bakker to place third in the 4x400 meter relay (3:18.63). The men's 5000 meter saw a pair of Saints crack the 15 minute barrier for the first time. Lifetime bests were turned in by
Brian Langlois (14:51.77) and
Shema Reponse (14:58.78).
The field events were highlighted by a trio of Saints clearing 14-7.5 in the pole vault.
Joe Farage,
Brady Lewis and
Jesse Henderson all placed high in the Friday section of the vault competition.
Aquinas will return to action on Thursday as the Saints will compete at the WHAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne.
