The women's track and field team were busy this weekend with the GVSU Big Meet on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 11-12), along with the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge on Friday (Feb. 11). Many track and field athletes competed at the two events, with many athletes performing very well.
At the GVSU Big Meet,
Hannah Adler improved her A-standard time in the women's mile.
Maggie Whitney hit her second-best time in the 800-meter, along with hitting an A-standard in the event.
The women's team consisting of Adler, Whitney,
Grace Sweet, and Kimbrough finished eight in the DMR, along with hitting the a-standard to earn an automatic qualification to nationals. The team had a time of 12:07.19.
Crystal Goyette finished 15th in the high jump.
Casey Lenon competed in the 200-meter dash and placed sixth in her heat. Tarshanna Kimbrough came in first place in the 60-meter hurdles.
At the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge, Lenon matched her B-standard in the high jump with a 5-5.
The women will be back in action next weekend for the
WHAC Conference Championships. The two-day meet begins on Friday at 4:00 PM as the Saints look for a conference championship.Â
