The women's bowling team took their second trip to Jax 60 in as many weeks yesterday (Feb. 12) to compete in the Scotty Classic. The women's team placed 7th out of 14 teams in the event on Saturday with a score of 6,062 pins.
Carley Blanchard placed in the top ten as the best bowler for Aquinas. Madonna came in first place with a team score of 6.858. Spring Arbor (6,774), Alma (6,537), Concordia (6,275), and Cornerstone (6,250) rounded out the top-five teams.
Blanchard placed in 9th place at the Scotty Classic with a score of 764. Her scores of 197, 200, 211, and 156 brought her average score to 191 per game.
Audrey Meader finished in 31st on the individual table with a score of 699. Her average score of 174.75 was propelled by scores of 165, 178, 187, and 169.
Michelle Thompson placed 54th with a total score of 636. She scored 129, 198, 176, and 133 in her respective games for an average of 159 pins per game.
Morgan Jones placed 58th with scores of 197, 147, 107, and 169. Her accumulate score of 622 averaged out to 155.5 pins per game.
Narelle Hickmon bowled two games for a score of 359. She bowled a 156 and a 203 in her two games.
Genevieve Soltis and
Nicole Pawloski bowled the last two games for Aquinas, each scoring 128 in their games.
The Saints will be back in action next weekend (Feb. 19-20) for a two-day tournament in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Hoosier Classic will be hosted by Western Bowl.
