This weekend the men's track and field teams were back in competition when they headed to Allendale, Michigan for the Al Owens Classic. The men had one new school record and a new automatic qualifier.

Beginning in the 110 Hurdles,
Isaiah Jackson qualified for the finals in the event and during that race he clocked a time of 14.77. This time earned him the school record lastly set by Mike Sweeney (1973) and Sam Clendion (1975) with a time of 14.84.

Then in the Hammer,
Collin Pollatz bettered his previous mark this year with a new season best of 58.33 meters. This throw automatically qualifies him for nationals.

Sticking with the throws,
John Van Til shined in the discus and shot put finals. In discus, Van Til finished sixth with a best throw of 40.09 meters. Then in the shot, he took seventh with a throw of 12.03 meters. Also in shot,
Brendan Madej took tenth with a throw of 10.54 meters.

In the Steeplechase
Ben Hardy was the Saints top finisher at fourth with a time of 9:54 Six seconds behind him was
Connor Callahan in sixth place. Also in the event was
Ken Wojcik with a new PR, along with
Jonah Maichele and
Daniel Oviedo.

The 5K saw two men earn personal bests with Matt Schieber and
Mike Ciaravino recording times of 15:22 and 15:54.

In the 800,
Will Finch and
Caleb Hodgkinson worked together throughout the quick race and finished third and fourth with times of 1:53 and 1:54.
Clayton Jones was also in the race as well as competing in the 1500 finishing with a time of 3:58.

Then in the 200, Cryus Prudhomme and
Lawrence Young finished seventh and ninth with times of 21.89 and 22.01 to lead the way for the Saints.

The men will be back in action next weekend for the Davenport Invitational. The two day meet will take place in Caledonia, Michigan and will be the last meet before the WHAC Championships.
