The women's track and field team was in action this weekend at the Al Owens Classic. The women had a historic weekend as they saw two new school records and three more provisional qualifiers.

The first record to fall this weekend was in the high jump when
Kaylee Diamond competed. Her best jump of 5-7 ¾ betters
Payton Klein and Kellie Leeuw's previous record of 5-7. Diamond automatically qualifies in the event and currently leads the nation.

Then in pole vault the recently returning
Victoria Faber continues to make waves. Last week she vaulted a height of 12-1 ½ to qualify for nationals. This week she vaulted nearly a whole foot better with a height of 13-1/4. This height breaks her previous school record of 12-8 1/4 and currently ranks her second in the NAIA.

Tarshana Kimbrough was moving on Saturday when she competing in both the 100 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles. First in the 100, she ran a time of 14.69 which earned her a provisional qualifier. Then later on in the 400, her time of 1:03.97 gave her another provisional qualifier. This time now ranks her third all-time at Aquinas.

Finally
Maggie Whitney was the last qualifier for the Saints this weekend. In the 1500, she ran a 4:39.5 to rank her fifth in AQ History and betters her provisional mark. Whitney also competed later on in 800 and won the event with a 2:16.

In the 5K,
Megan Gough finished in sixth with a time of 18:46 and
Hanna Grant finished 12
th with a time of 19:09.

Shanna Han performed well this weekend with a fifth place finish in the Long Jump and second in the Triple Jump  with a mark of 10.56 meters. Also in the Triple was Diamond with a mark of 10.05 and
Crystal Goyette with a mark of 9.64 meters.

In the 100 and 200 dash,
Casey Lenon made it to finals in both finishing fifth and sixth with times of 12.41 and 25.62.

Rebecca Beltran held it down in the throws events with a fourteenth place finish in the Discus thanks to a throw of 33.68 meters and also finishing eighth in the shot put with a throw of 11.04 meters.
Shekira Edgar also had a solid performance in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 39.38 meters.

The women will be back in action next weekend for the Davenport Invitational. The two day meet will take place in Caledonia, Michigan and will be the last meet before the WHAC Championships.
