RESULTS

The men's track and field began their season today with a two day meet at the Spartan Invitational. The meet, hosted by Michigan State, saw one Saint hit a national standard.

Highlighting the day for Aquinas was Collin Pollatz. His consistency from meet-to-meet continued into outdoor when he competed in the Hammer Throw. With a best throw of 54.35, he finished ninth in the event and earns a provisional qualifier. Pollatz then finished right behind teammate John Van Til in the Discus when they had throws of 39.78 and 39.53.

In the 800, Caleb Hodgkinson came off his All-American in Indoor and finished fifth with a time of 1:56.

The Saints were well represented in the 1500 where they occupied the top four spots and the seventh place in the unseeded race. Mike Ciaravino won the event with a time of 4:14. Behind him was Jonah Maichele, Ken Wojcik, and Ethan Barker by a spread of three seconds. Rob Kloosterman finished seventh with a 4:23. Then later in the faster heats Clayton Jones finished 21st with a 4:01

In the 5K, Ben Hardy set a new personal best with a time of 15:20. He placed 10th out of 46 competitors with a time of 15:20. Also in the race, Matt Schieber finished, with a time of 15:29, followed by Connor Clemens (15:35), Edward Frey (15:44), Andrew Ireland (15:47) and Connor Callahan (15:49)

In the Javelin, Elmar Koster finished third with a throw of 54.45.

Sticking with field events, Isaiah Jackson finished fourth in the long jump with a jump of 6.73 meters.

The men will be back in action next Friday and Saturday for the Jim Vargo Invitational. The meet will take place in Louisville, Kentucky.
