This weekend the men's track and field team stayed in the greater Grand Rapids area as they competed at the Davenport Invitational. The men had many solid performances before they do battle against WHAC Competitors next weekend.

The biggest highlight this weekend came from
Collin Pollatz in the hammer throw. He finished fourth but bettered his NAIA automatic standard with a throw of 58.82. Sticking with the throws
John Van Til placed seventh in the shot with a throw of 13.50 meters.

Then in the 110 Hurdles, AQ captured two spots in the top four with
Isaiah Jackson finishing second (15.40) and
Preston Dion finishing fourth (16.42). Then in the 100 Dash,
Cyrus Prudhomme was the Saints top finisher placing sixth with a time of 11.22. Both Jackson and Prudhomme then competed in the 4x100 with
Lawrence Young and
Brian Stump. The quartet took first by .2 and a final time of 42.24.

Earlier in the day on Saturday,
Adam Bailey won the men's 400 Hurdle with a time of 56.26. In the regular 400,
Jacob Tenbusch was the Saints top finisher with a time of 51.08.

This week
Will Finch and
Caleb Hodgkinson finished hip to hip once again when they finished with times of 1:56.14 and 1:56.54. Later in the day Finch was also the Saints highest finisher in the 1500 placing sixth with a time of 4:07.

Clayton Jones was in a stacked 5,000 meter race on Friday. He finished 24
th with a new personal record of 14:58.

 The jumps crew represented well this weekend. Starting with high jump,
Jacob Dawson and
Jesunifemi Ojutalayo finished third and fourth with jumps of 1.87 and 1.82 meters. Then in the long jump, Ojutalyo finished sixth with a jump of 6.50 meters.

The Conference Championship will be hosted in Ann Arbor, Michigan next weekend. The times for the Thursday-Friday are still to be announced.
