West Branch, Mich. — The Aquinas women's golf team competed at the LTU Blue Devil Classic in West Branch, Michigan, in tournament play on Oct. 9-10 with Madonna, Lake Superior and host Lawrence Tech. The Classic was played on two courses, one for each day of play: The Nightmare Golf Course for Day 1 and The Dream Golf Course for Day 2. The overall course had three pars of 72, bringing the individual par to 216, and the team par of 864. AQ shot 1,092 placing them in fourth place.
Hosts Lawrence Tech won the event with a team score of 998, followed by Madonna (1,050) and Lake Superior State (1,059). The Saints shot 373, 353 and 366 over the three rounds played.
Freshman
Jayda Kerns had the best showing for the Saints with a 265, which tied her for 10th place individually.
Junior
Emma Franklin was next in line with a 272 giving herself 13th.
Freshman
Zoey Quinn claimed 15th with a 278.
Sophomore
Mara Brydges tied for 20th with a 289.
Senior
Brooke Kalisz finished for the Saints with a 289Â tying her for 20th.
The Saints closed out the fall season on Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 16-17) as they will take on the greens at Harbor Shores Golf Club in Benton Harbor, Mich., for the Harbor Shores Intercollegiate hosted by Bethel.
