Ottawa Lake, Mich. — The Aquinas women's golf team began its 2023-2024 season today (Sept. 7) with a showing of 352 at The Legacy Golf Course in Ottawa Lake, MI.
AQ found themselves a swing away from a 3rd place tie with the likes of Spring Arbor (351). Siena Heights claimed second with a showing of 337. While Lawrence Tech distanced themselves from the rest with a performance of 325 to win the Lourdes Fall Invite.
Junior
Emma Franklin (8th) scored best for the Saints with an 82, trailing the top performer of the day by seven strokes. Freshmen
Jayda Kerns (18th) and
Maddie Schense (50th) begin their collegiate careers with an 88 and an 101, respectively. While seniors
Mara Brydges (29th) and
Brooke Kalisz (22nd) carried home an 88 and a 90.
This week was the start of both the AQ men's and women's golf seasons. This also marks the competitive debut of new head coach
John Konya, as he takes on both roles of head coach here at Aquinas College.
The women are back in action on Sept. 20 at 1:30pm at the Kauffman Golf Course in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They will take the greens in an exhibition dual against Davenport.
