Wauwatosa, Wis. – The Aquinas women's bowling team traveled to Wisconsin to compete in the two-day 53rd Annual Midwest Collegiate Championships. In a massive field of 42 teams, the Saints ended the first day in the middle of the pack with a 23rd-place finish. Aquinas totaled 4,368 pins across five games in the tightly-packed leaderboard. Only 301 pins separate currently ninth-place Davenport from the Saints.
AQ's best set of games was its second set as it totaled 929 pins. However, Aquinas was pretty consistent all day, scoring 855, 929, 865, 820, and 899 in its respective games.
The Saints saw standout performances from
Chloe Fisk, who bowled the best game for AQ all day with a 218. Kayla VanLinden,
Morgan Jones, and
Carley Blanchard all bowed 200+ pin games of their own as well.
Individual Standing Highlights:
- VanLinden is the highest-ranked bowler for the Saints after day one in 52nd place. She bowled a 175, 181, 193, 189, and 201 for a total of 939 pins, averaging 187.8 pins per game.
- Fisk is in 75th after scoring 218, 176, 195, 158, and 158, totaling 905 pins and averaging 181 pins per game.
- Jones is just behind Fisk in 77th after scoring 177, 186, 168, 203, and 170, totaling 904 pins and averaging 180.8 pins per game.
- Blanchard ends day one in 94th after scores of 147, 202, 173, 154, and 195, totaling 871 pins and averaging 174.2 pins per game.
