Bowling Green, Ohio –The Aquinas men's basketball team traveled to Ohio on Saturday (Dec. 23) for an exhibition matchup against the Division I Bowling Green Falcons. Facing a higher-level opponent, Aquinas was unable to overcome Bowling Green's depth.

Bowling Green opened the game with the first few baskets, but the Saints quickly responded. A jumper from Devon Boyd and two free throws by Caden Pokorzynski narrowed the gap to 5-4. Jadakiss Lewis followed with a jump shot, and Ryan Weir knocked down a three-pointer to bring the Saints within five at 14-9. Jacob Howard added a free throw, and Boyd hit another jumper to close the gap to 14-12. Pokorzynski kept the offense rolling with six made free throws, keeping the Saints within striking distance at 23-18. David Day drained a three-pointer, and Pokorzynski capped off the first half with a dunk, sending the Saints into halftime trailing 43-25.
Pokorzynski opened the second half with a layup to make it 43-27. Lewis sank a three-pointer, and back-to-back layups from Boyd and Terrance Jones trimmed the deficit to 52-34. Day added five points, and Samuel Medendorp hit a three-pointer to bring the Saints within 16 at 60-44. Fueled by a surge, the Saints managed to cut the deficit to single digits at 71-62, highlighted by a three from Howard and back-to-back threes from Lewis. However, Bowling Green closed out the game with a dominant 16-point run, securing an 87-62 victory over the Saints.
