The Saints were seeded in the second of two heats with NAIA foes Goshen, Cornerstone, and Lawrence Tech. The four squads put on quite a show as they all hit the automatic qualifier for the NAIA Indoor National Championships. The Saints bested the group with an impressive 10:00.60 to earn the third fastest time in school history and the fastest effort not at a national championship.
Caleb Hodgkinson led off with a 3:03.7 on the 1200 meter leg and was followed by
Jimmy Peabody's 50.8 on the 400 leg.
Liam Kelly kept the baton moving through his 800 leg in 1:54.7 before handing off to
Ben Hardy for the final 1600 meters. Hardy used a strong surge over the last 400 to close in 4:11.0 and secure the heat win for the Saints. The time currently has Aquinas ranked 2nd on the NAIA Indoor Performance List.
The Saints will now prepare for the WHAC Indoor Track and Field Championships next weekend.
