Grand Rapids, Michigan - After two days of competition, the men's track and field team finished in a tie for third place with 101.5 points at the WHAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Indiana Tech won the meet with 239 points, while Madonna placed second with 114 points. The host Saints and Cornerstone finished the 18 event competition with identical scores for third place.
The Saints attack was spearheaded by
Edward Frey who claimed the conference title in the 3000 meters (8:36.46). Frey also placed second in the 5000 meters (15:07.71) and was named Aquinas' Champions of Character Representative. The WHAC title in the 5000 meters was secured by
Ethan Barker who covered the 25 laps in 15:02.97. Barker would also pick up points with a sixth place finish in the Mile.
Caleb Hodgkinson would repeat as the WHAC Indoor Champion in the 1000 meters as he crossed the finish line in 2:31.70. Hodgkinson would also team up with
Jaben Bakker,
Liam Kelly, and
Ben Hardy to place second in the 4x800 Meter Relay and improve their "A" standard time (7:49.57).
The Saints were also recognized for their work in the classroom as Aquinas saw a conference high 17 student-athletes named to the All-WHAC Academic Team.

The Saints will now switch the attention to the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships that will be contested in Brookings, South Dakota in two weeks.
