Maumee, Ohio. — The Aquinas College Tennis programs traveled to Maumee, Ohio, on Saturday (Feb. 25) to take on the Gray Wolves of Lourdes. The men found defeat with a score of 6-1. While the women flipped the script and tallied a victory of 6-1.
The men drop to 0-5 (0-1), as the women jump up to 1-4 (1-0)
Men: Lourdes 6, Aquinas 1
For the single matches:
Tom Gangov defeated his opponent 6-1 and 6-4.
Brandon McEachern and
Nicholas Lourido won games but were unable to secure a match victory.
For Doubles:
The Saints put up and effort and took games in doubles but once again were unable to pull out a match victory.
Women: Aquinas 6, Lourdes 1
For the single matches:
Carlota Arzabe won her contest with results of 6-3 and 6-2.
Alyssa Jack defeated her opponent 6-1 and 7-6 (7-2).
Megan Hearn won with decisions of 6-4 and 6-3.
Hannah Lourido accomplished 6-4 and 6-1.
And
Camryn Wiersema had a winning tally of 6-2 and 6-3.
For Doubles:
Arzabe and
Ruth Rabaut won their bout 6-2.
Lourido and Wiersema had a dominant showing of 6-1.
