Box Score Alma, Mich. – The Aquinas men's tennis team was back on the court on Sunday (Sept. 8) to compete against the Alma Scots. Coming off the heels of a 6-1 result against Adrian, the Saints were looking to bounce back today. AQ had a strong showing against the Scots, winning three matches. However, the Scots just got the best of Aquinas, winning the match 4-3.

Tom Gangov improved to 2-0 in singles play this afternoon and is now 4-0 in his sets. Gangov won 6-2 and 6-3 to put a point on the board for the Saints.
Dorian Petengill competed in number three singles and won his first match as a Saint, claiming his sets with scores of 7-5 and 6-4.
Dominic Marinelli also won his first match for Aquinas, winning the number five singles with set scores of 6-4 and 7-5.
The team of Gangov and Petengill also won the number one doubles contest, giving the Saints their first doubles match victory of the season.
However, the Scots managed to win the number two and three doubles matches to claim that point. A narrow win over
Michael Ha is the number two singles (7-5, 6-3), a win over
Dominic Maslanka (6-3, 6-2), and a win over
Josh Chlebek pushed the Scots past AQ in a thrilling contest.

The Saints will return to action next weekend (Sept. 13-14) to compete in the Hope Invitational. The tournament will begin at 8:00 a.m. on both days.
