Brookings, South Dakota - With day one in the books, the Saints will now switch their attention to Friday's events at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships. The Saints competed in three preliminary rounds of relays and one individual preliminary.
Ethan Barker competed in the 5k and he finished 8th in the first of three heats. His time of 14:59.99 placed him 19th out of 36 competitors. The quartet of
Madison Rempalski,
Lauren Wooer,
Cadence Schultz, and
Ella Koons placed 18th in the 4x800 meter relay. Their time of 9:38.32 was a season best and they finished four spots better than where they were seeded. The men's 4x800 meter relay consisting of
Nolan Moffit,
Tyler Vandierdonck,
Juan David Hernandez, and Matthew Schiber also placed 18th in a time of 8:15.06. Also competing for the Saints was the men's distance medley relay.
Caleb Hodgkinson,
Jake Van Tassell,
Liam Kelly, and
Ben Hardy placed 19th in a time of 10:31.25.
Aquinas will begin competition at 1pm (CST) with
Kaylee Diamond in the long jump.
