Grand Rapids, Michigan - The men's track & field team returned to action this evening as the Saints hosted the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame Classic. The Alksnis Athletic and Recreation Building provided the backdrop for an entertaining evening of some of the finest small college track and field that West Michigan has to offer. Aquinas collected four first place finishes and recorded one automatic qualifier for the National Championships.
The quartet of
Jaben Bakker,
Liam Kelly,
Caleb Hodgkinson, and
Ben Hardy bettered the "A" standard in the men's 4x800 meter relay. Aquinas' time of 7:50.95 currently has the Saints ranked fifth in the 4x8 on the NAIA Performance List. The meet was also highlighted by the first place finishes of
Caleb Hodgkinson (600 meters),
Matthew Schieber (Mile).
Juan David Hernandez (3000 Meters), and
Jalen Radke (Long Jump).
The Saints will resume competitions next weekend as they host the WHAC vs. MIAA Challenge and travel to the GVSU "Big Meet".
