Women Fourth, Men 13th in Ackerman-Allen Invitational

AQ now heads towards the WHAC Championships after regular season final

West Lafayette, Ind. — The Aquinas College golf teams traveled down to West Lafayette for a single day two-round contest at the Ackerman-Allen Invitational hosted by Taylor. The women earned fourth place while the men battled it out and collected 13th.

Women:

Here are how the team shot individually for both rounds (Par 72):

(19th) Brooke Kalisz 89 (48+41) and 85 (43+42).

(T14) Jayda Kerns 81 (39+42) and 83 (44+39). Freshman Kerns continues to impress with the best overall for the Saints.

(T23) Emma Franklin 89 (46+43) and 93 (43+50).

(22nd) Maddie Schense 92 (47+45) and 87 (44+43).

(17th) Zoey Quinn 84 (43+41) and 87 (44+43).

Here is what Head Coach John Konya had to say about the teams performance, "It was nice to see Zoey score better. She's been putting better, which sure helps. Jayda and Brooke had a nice tournament as well! We're  looking forward the WHAC Championship, at Stonehedge"!

Men:

Here is how the men shot individually for both rounds (par 72):

(T26) Matt Denhartigh 72 (34+38) and 77 (37+40). Denhartigh continues his shooting spree with an even score on the first round and a +5 overall, in addition to shooting best for the men two competitions in a row.

 (T58) Dominic Luciani 78 (38+40) and 77 (40+37).

(T84) Anthony Lalomia 90 (43+47) and 77 (38+39).

(80th) Austin Pitsch 79 (41+38) and 86 (45+41).

(T81) Alex Johnson 84 (43+41) and 82 (41+41).

Here is what Coach Konya had to say about the men's performances on the day, "I was really happy to see Tony bounce back, in the second round. It shows his resilience... It was a nice opportunity to play on Purdue's venue. It's quite a complex! We now quickly flip our focus to the WHAC Championship"!

Up Next

The men will return to the Stoatin Brae Golf Club in Augusta, Michigan, for the WHAC Championships held Thursday to Saturday (Apr. 18-20).

The women will return to the Stonehenge Golf Club on Sunday to Tuesday (Apr. 21-23) for their WHAC Championship competition.
