Fort Wayne, Indiana - The men's track & field team opened competition at the WHAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Warrior Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana this afternoon. The Saints battled the competition and the weather as the meet saw high temps and multiple lightning delays. The competition was eventually halted during the men's 10,000 and javelin.
The men's 4x800 meter relay highlighted the competition on day one for the Saints. The quartet of
Jacob Tenbusch,
Liam Kelly,
Tyler Vandierdonck, and
Caleb Hodgkinson placed second overall and hit the provisional qualifying mark (7:45.97) for the national championships. The Saints also received a strong effort from
Nate White in the 100 meter dash. White's time of 10.79 advanced him to tomorrow's final. His time was the sixth fastest in the qualifying round.
Aquinas will return to action on Friday at 10am with the second and final day of the outdoor championships.
